Sun Salutations for Kids

Sun Salutations are a great way to start the day! They can help kids feel energized and stress-free.

Kid-Friendly Sun Salutation Tips:

1. Add Energizing Music

I recommend “Dance for the Sun” by Kira Willey for kids under 6 and “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons for older kids!

2. Incorporate Partner Yoga

Kids LOVE partner work! Hold poses while holding hands, going back-to-back, or face-to-face. Prepare for a lot of laughing and family bonding!

3. Tell a Story

There’s more to sun salutations than the yoga poses! Tell a story while moving through the flow. Connect animal sounds and voices in your story for younger children. For children 7 and up, tell a story AND add in physical benefits and fun facts!

Here’s an easy kid-friendly sun salutation sequence:

Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
